FAQs
You’ve got questions, we’ve got answers
-
Dress for mess! Aprons are available and our paints are washable, but creativity can be colorful and unpredictable. We’ll be exploring a variety of tactile, sensory-rich materials, so comfortable, play-friendly clothes are encouraged.
-
Each class includes a movement activity to support regulation, a short theme or inspiration, and process-based art. There are no step-by-step instructions—artists have the freedom to explore and create in their own way.
-
All children are welcome at The Art Haus. We expect big feelings, wiggles, and differences in how kids engage and move through our activities. Our team is trained to support regulation, modifications, and transitions. We’ll meet your child right where they are. We also want to work hand in hand with caregivers. You know your kids best. We are eager to know what you need, receive feedback, and hear your ideas!
-
Please complete liability waiver and media release. If you don’t get to the online form, you can fill one out in person.
-
All Art Haus staff are CPR and First Aid certified. Parents and caregivers are expected to remain within visual range of their children at all times to help with safety and intervention if needed. Our classes often include tools like scissors, glue, and paint, which we encourage children to use as independently as possible for creative freedom. With that freedom, we rely on both staff and parents to keep extra eyes on our artists—parents are ultimately responsible for their children’s safety during class.
-
We love the outdoors and plan to be out during scheduled days as long as temperatures are between 35° and 95° and there is adequate shade. Classes will continue rain or shine, and we’ll happily adapt activities to make the most of a rainy day. The only exceptions are dangerous conditions such as lightning or severe storms—in those cases, we will cancel or reschedule for safety. We will update social media in those cases.
-
Sometimes! Some classes focus on collaborative group art, while others offer individual pieces to take home. Either way, the value is in the process, not just the product.
