About Us
Founded by Pediatric COTAs.
Inspired by Parenthood.
Hi, Friends! We’re Morgan and Cabby.
We are both pediatric COTA/Ls, and we have spent years supporting children of all abilities through creativity, sensory play, and developmentally rich experiences. Along the way we have seen how powerful art and connection can be for kids, and how much families benefit from spaces that truly “get” them.
We are also moms, right in the thick of parenting ourselves. Between meltdowns, nap strikes, and the magic little moments that catch us off guard, we are reminded every day that children (and their grown-ups) need safe, welcoming places to simply be.
The Art Haus is our passion project. It brings together our professional background and our personal hearts. It also gives us the freedom to focus on the parts of therapy and childhood we love most: creativity, connection, and joy.
At its core, The Art Haus is about bridging gaps. Gaps in access. Gaps in inclusion. Gaps in community. We dream of a place where extracurriculars and hobbies welcome every child, where families of all socioeconomic backgrounds feel at home, and where uniqueness and differences are celebrated.
Bridging The Gap
Anonymous feedback from our survey from local parents about the importance of having a space like The Art Haus.
As the mother to a recently diagnosed child with SPD, having a safe space where he can create and explore new things would be an invaluable resource to him and our family. He struggles in a typical classroom setting and being in a space where he could move and not be penalized for it would help us reinforce his self-esteem and other aspects of his social emotional learning skills we’re working on through OT.

I can’t wait to have a space for all kids to belong and to teach inclusivity to our next generation. As a parent of two typically developing children, I’d love a space to help teach my child to be welcoming of others, their differences, and to identify that we are more alike than we are different.

I think it would be cool to have a place where kids don’t have to be ‘perfect’ and can just express themselves without being overly monitored or corrected for ‘mistakes’. I think Knoxville has a good amount of activities for kids but I think it needs more.
